No matter what you call him this is a special day in America. It's when we recognize the men who taught us how to ride a bike, open up our first bank account, took us to games and walked us down the isle. Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there who make a difference every single day no matter what Mom
Some quick odds and ends: Who does Tony Hayward's PR? You know him right? He's the CEO of BP who was grilled on the hill last week to which he said he was sorry and that the company was going to make it right. He's spending the weekend at the Isle of Wight in England watching his "52 foot" yacht race. The people in Louisiana who can't even drop a fishing line in the water are fumed. As soon as the rumor spread BP was quick to send out a a PR spokesperson who let the world know that geez Hayward needed to spend time with the family and the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Fund Race one of the largest in the World is his favorite. Oh..okay. Speaking of ridiculous how bout' the fact that at the Tour de France they will randomly scan bicycles for motors. It's true I can't make this stuff up. The International Cycling Union says that they heard rumors that Fabian Cancellara used what they call "mechanical doping during his wins in the Tour of Flanders and the Paris-Roubaix. Cancellara flately denies the allegations. This brings new meaning to Lombardi's famous phrase, "Winning isn't everything it's the only thing." Does that apply to cheating?

World Cup: USA fights Slovenia to 2-2 tie
I am loving watching Team USA and it was well worth the investment this morning. Two second half goals had me coming out of my skin. So, the team picks up a point with a 2-2 draw against Slovenia although they really should have won. A free kick by the US that ended in a score was called a foul the referee screwed the pooch with a bad call. All the soccer experts say it was definately a goal and the call was bogus. The players should still be proud with that huge comeback that kept them in the World Cup. Maybe I like this soccer thing more than I thought.

I am so tired of watching the plumes as oil continues to pour into the Gulf of Mexico. Here we are marking Day 60 this weekend. Why wasn't the Jones Act waived, why didn't we let the ships from the Middle East help us suck up the oil? Then today the Coast Guard stopped Sixteen barges that were vaccuming up the oil after the Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal decided he had enough and needed some help. The guys on the barges had hazmat suits on and gas masks plus the oil they collected was going into steel canisters so what was the problem? The Coast Guard needed to make sure they had fire extinguishers and life vests on board and they were tripping up on some other red tape. Tonight on America Tonight we talk with Andrew Langer, the President for the Institute for Liberty about his Op-Ed piece railing on the blunder of not lifting the Jones Act.

The Queen of Daytime TV gifts her magazine staff with an IPad and $10,000 each. Sweet! What has your boss given you lately? Most people are lucky if they have a Christmas Party anymore or even a turkey and a handshake at Thanksgiving. No matter what you think of O you have to hand it to her nobody gifts better than she does.
Speaking of money the Chairman of British Petroleum has agreed to create a $20 billion dollar oil spill fund and set up another fund for out of work oil workers. Plus those dividends for stockholders are off the table in light of the disaster. Carl Henric Svanberg only made one mistake by pulling a Leona Helmsley when he referred to the company as caring about the little people. Say what?? He needs to take a page from President Obama's playbook when in doubt travel with a telepromter and always double check the speech writer's work.
