Right off the bat a big thank you to so many who contributed to www.saveisabella.com. The good news is that Isabella is having her leg fixed on Tuesday. The economy is not only taking it's toll on people but on pets as well. Tonight on the show more on where will the 9/11 trials be moved now that New York City is out of the mix. Also, did anybody finally Nail the Score?

The first official State of the Union address might end up sounding familiar with themes of job creation, the economic recovery, health care reform and deficit reduction. We'll talk about it tonight on ATN. |

My Heart just breaks for the people of Haiti who almost a week after a devastating quake are walking the streets like zombies in some cases still looking for loved ones. We have spoken too so many on America Tonight who say no words can describe what they are seeing on the ground even the most basic services just aren't functioning. At least 300,000 people are homeless in Port-Au-Prince and the daily need for water is pegged at about 12 million gallons. How many people were killed in last week's quake is still a mystery but the Pan American Health Organization has released some gruesome statistics putting it between 50,000 to 100,00. The good news is Americans as always when people are in trouble run to the rescue. Wallets are opening even among the people struggling the most in the is country. It's moments like these that remind me why I am so proud to be an American. More on the relief efforts on America Tonight. |

Sobbing and sniffling, Mark McGwire finally answered the steroid question but just like the lyrics from an old Carol King song.."It's Too Late Baby", you strung us along when you could have told the truth. For more than a decade McGwire skirted around the questions of steriods. McGwire admitted Monday what many had suspected for so long – that steroids and human growth hormone helped make him a home run king. "The toughest thing is my wife, my parents, close friends have had no idea that I hid it from them all this time," he told The Associated Press in an emotional, 20-minute interview. "I knew this day was going to come. I didn't know when." In a quavering voice, McGwire apologized and said he used steroids and human growth hormone on and off for a decade, starting before the 1990 season and including the year he broke Roger Maris' single-season home run record in 1998. "I wish I had never touched steroids," McGwire said. "It was foolish and it was a mistake." We wish you hadn't either Mark as I was sucked into the homerun circus like everyone else. I even wrote a column in the Arlington Morning News that I had never felt such excitement in The Ballpark in Texas when you came to town. McGwire has been in hiding since his infamous testimony before a congressional committee in March 2005, when he said, "I'm not here to talk about the past." He had been in self-imposed exile from public view, an object of ridicule for refusing to answer the questions. Why come clean now? He was hired by the Cardinals to be their hitting coach and knew he'd have to address the questions before Spring Training. Yes, we can forgive and forget as long as we don't let cheaters like McGwire and others who used steriods into the Hall of Fame. |
