Heading into the weekend I thought we needed a break from all the nonsense going down in Washington. If only our politicians knew a few corny Knock Knock jokes, eh. I can't tell a joke to save my life sadly I always seem to forget the punch lines. The only ones that stick are the Knock Knock's. Here are a few that might impress your friends or at least the kids.

Knock, Knock. Who's there? Thistle. Thistle who? Thistle teach you to ask silly questions.

Knock, Knock. Who's there? Owl. Owl who? Owl be seeing you.

Knock, Knock. Who's there? Radio. Radio who? Radio not, here I come.

Knock, Knock. Who's there? Toucan. Toucan who? Toucan live cheaply as one.

Knock, Knock. Who's there? Sherwood. Sherwood who? Sherwood like to eat dinner with you.

Economic Stimulus $$ or ?? PDF Print E-mail

The public is weary of promises that an economic stimulus will jolt the economy and their fortunes back into the black so it's no surprize that the latest USA Today/Gallup Poll shows pessimism across the country. Check it out of those surveyed most predict that President Obama's package of tax cuts and new spending might help the economy but not their family finances. Still of those who were asked two-thirds said they want Congress to pass the bill anyway.

The Senate is debating on the $885 billion dollar stimulus bill right now on the heels of the house democrats passing an $819 billion dollar version without a single Republican vote. Where do you stand? Call us on America Tonight at 877-232-4855.

Giants WR Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg at a Manhattan nightclub on Friday and all hell has broken loose.  He was with teammate Antonio Pierce who says he didn't know he was carrying until the gun went off and a bulliet hit Burress in his right thigh. The cops are tying to find out if Pierce is covering for his buddy.

Burress has been charged with illegal weapons possession a felony that carries a mandatory minimum 3 1/2 years in jail and a max of 15 if convicted. The Giants suspended him for 4 games and put him on the reserve non football injury list. No Playoffs for Plax and maybe some time in the Pen.

Is this Fair or foul?  You be the judge shoot us your thoughts via e-mail and we'll read the best on the air.

Are you voting? PDF Print E-mail

Judging by all the conversation on America Tonight and around watercoolers across the country we should have a record turnout at the polls.  For the first time in my life I can say everyone I know is voting. Too many of my friends and acquaintances have forgotten to register or had some other lame excuse in the past for not exercising their right to vote. My ultra liberal friend Kris freaks out at the thought of a McCain/Palin White House while my pal Annie can't believe Obama is close to becoming President.  The one thing they have in common is they'll be voting in Orlando and Los Angeles respectively.

After spending time in Mexico years ago for an election in Chihuahua I learned a valuable lesson. I watched people forced to stuff the ballot box shaking when they reached up to drop their paper in the box.  Not too far away in a corner you could see the military armed and ready. It was then that I knew I'd always vote. Everytime I go to the polls even if I'm not crazy about the choices I get chills up my spine. Nobody is telling me what to do or forcing me at gunpoint to pick a square.

So you might take a different attitude to the polls this year. You might not like the choices but at least you have em'.
